The Team Maplesoft is pleased to announce the availability of Maple\MapleSim Products 2024.2. Maplesoft products provide modern, innovative solutions to meet today’s challenges, from exploring math concepts on a smartphone to reducing development risk in complex engineering design projects.

What's new in Maple 2024.2
Maple 2024.2 is a maintenance update to Maple 2024. It contains corrections and improvements to Maple 2024 in a variety of areas, including:

- Added ability to tear away tabs into new windows
- Added new functionality for the Embedded Components list editor
- Updates to the icons in the Component palette
- Improvements to Scrollable Matrices
- Corrections to PDF export and printing
- Updates to the Physics package
- Various small corrections throughout the math engine, in simplify, limit, sum, and others
- Support for MapleSim 2024.2

A new look for the Hydraulics Library
The MapleSim Hydraulics library has received a refreshed look, with the palette components now arranged into new themes that align closely with typical industry uses. This cuts the time spent to build efficient system-level models with hydraulics, and supports the design and development of innovative products


Updates to the MapleSim Web Handling Library
The MapleSim Web Handling Library, an add-on to MapleSim, offers specialty features for modeling your R2R (roll-to-roll) processes. Here’s what the new 2024.2 update offers:


- Explore roller drives and web control strategies. The new Drives and Controls sublibrary provides new components and settings for engineers to design and validate tension control loops for managing R2R web lines. Users new to simulation can get started quickly with the matching set of prebuilt example models.
- Reduce the risk of troughs and wrinkles. The new Trough Formation Limit App offers an easy way to test the dynamics of the web line and determine safe operating conditions.
- A common measure for roller performance, the Slip Ratio calculation is now available as a summary variable in several roller components (including Roller Detailed, Contact Roller and Variable Nip Roller).
- The Sagging Web Component now has the same internal Web Sensor for tension and speed as available in the Span and Converting Span components.
- The capstan limit calculation summary variable, Summary Limit has been redefined to provide the roller traction capacity continuously from 0 to 1. A value of 1 indicates a tension ratio equal or greater than the capstan limit, marking the conditions for the web fully slipping on the roller.

Updates to the MapleSim CAD Toolbox
The MapleSim CAD Toolbox adds support for recent software releases from CATIA V5, Creo, Inventor, NX, Parasolid, and other CAD tools.

Introducing Maple 2024 for Education and Research


MapleSim is the advanced system-level modeling solution based on the Maple mathematical engine and analysis environment to design and simulate multidomain systems, plants and controls in one single environment. The schematic diagram interface enables rapid model development, thanks to the Maple symbolic computation foundation providing a highly concise, numerically efficient model formulation. MapleSim enables Engineering System Designers to answer the most critical questions faced in the everyday activity “Will the system work as required?”, and “Can we make it work better?”, by developing virtual prototypes of multi-domain dynamic systems and performing functional validation, critical system-level parametric studies and optimizations. The Control System Developer will be able to leverage MapleSim to develop high-fidelity models of complex dynamic systems for plant characterization and integrating models through automated code generation into (typically) MATLAB/Simulink for controller development.
