PBS Nova - Daredevils of the Sky

Stunt pilots guide their airplanes into intricate twists, turns, stalls, and spins. Sometimes they plunge toward the ground at hundreds of miles per hour. From the ground, the stunts appear easy, but they are actually highly planned and choreographed. A combination of physics, engineering, and aesthetics are used to create these air shows, which thrill audiences around the world. This program follows a group of aerobatic pilots through their training and culminates with their participation in an international aerobatic competition in Le Havre, France.
