A Chicago, al tempo del proibizionismo, e precisamente il 29 febbraio 1929, gli uomini di Al Capone uccidono sei gangster di una banda rivale. Il massacro avviene all'interno di un'autorimessa e due musicisti, Joe, suonatore di sassofono e Jerry, suonatore di contrabbasso, ne sono involontari testimoni. Braccati dai banditi, i due riescono a far perdere le loro tracce travestendosi con abiti femminili ed aggregandosi ad un'orchestra di donne, con la quale collabora come cantante l'avvenente Sugar. Costei è una strana ragazza, che vorrebbe sposarsi con un uomo ricco, ma nello stesso tempo accarezza il sogno di dare il suo cuore ad un appassionato del jazz. Joe s'innamora di Sugar, ma si deve fingere donna, cosicché i loro rapporti sono quelli di due affettuose amiche; Jerry, nelle vesti di un'affascinante vamp dai riccioli d'oro, fa innamorare un vecchio ma arzillo ganimede. La vita dei due amici, già abbastanza complicata per questa paradossale situazione, subisce la minaccia di un nuovo scompiglio: in quei giorni si svolge a Miami l'annuale congresso dei gangster e tra gli intervenuti ci sono gli autori della strage, di cui Joe e Jerry sono stati involontari testimoni. Riconosciuti dal capo della banda Spot Colombo, Joe e Jerry sono nuovamente costretti a fuggire e riusciranno a mettersi in salvo solo dopo aver assistito, sempre involontariamente, ad una nuova e più sanguinosa sparatoria. Grazie ad un improvviso colpo di scena, tutto avrà una felice conclusione.

When two Chicago musicians, Joe and Jerry, witness the the St. Valentine's Day massacre, they want to get out of town and get away from the gangster responsible, Spats Colombo. They're desperate to get a gig out of town but the only job they know of is in an all-girl band heading to Florida. They show up at the train station as Josephine and Daphne, the replacement saxophone and bass players. They certainly enjoy being around the girls, especially Sugar Kane Kowalczyk who sings and plays the ukulele. Joe in particular sets out to woo her while Jerry/Daphne is wooed by a millionaire, Osgood Fielding III. Mayhem ensues as the two men try to keep they true identities hidden and Spats Colombo and his crew show up for a meeting with several other crime lords.

Recovery Volumes (.rev)

Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.

This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.

Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.

WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.

You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.

Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
