In 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) e Jenko (Channing Tatum) sono stati nemici al liceo per poi diventare amici improbabili all’Accademia di Polizia. Anche se non si possono certo definire i poliziotti migliori del mondo, ai due viene offerta la possibilità di ribaltare la situazione quando entrano a far parte dell'unità segreta delle forze di polizia Jump Street, diretta dal Capitano Dickson (Ice Cube). Restituiscono pistole e distintivo ed armati di uno zaino sfruttano il loro aspetto giovanile per lavorare sotto copertura in un liceo. Il problema è che gli adolescenti di oggi non hanno nulla a che vedere con quelli di qualche anno fa, come erano loro, e Schmidt e Jenko scoprono che quello che pensavano sul mondo degli adolescenti, dal sesso alla droga al rock and roll, è tutto sbagliato. Ma soprattutto si accorgono che tutti e due stanno ancora totalmente dentro ai problemi dell'adolescenza che non hanno risolto in quegli anni - ed entrambi devono confrontarsi con le paure e l’ansia di essere nuovamente adolescenti e con tutte le questioni che pensavano di essersi lasciati alle spalle.

In high school, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) was a dork and Jenko (Channing Tatum) was the popular jock. After graduation, both of them joined the police force and ended up as partners riding bicycles in the city park. Since they are young and look like high school students, they are assigned to an undercover unit to infiltrate a drug ring that is supplying high school students synthetic drugs.
