‘Legends – A Winter Tale’, the new movie from O’Neill, is not a conventional snow movie. This new project of Swiss freeskiers Nicolas and Loris Falquet is all about discovering the myths and stories of spectacular natural playgrounds all over the world. Together with O’Neill snowboarders like Jeremy Jones (USA), Fredrik Evensen (NOR), Stefan Gimpl (AUT), Mitch Toelderer (AUT), Gian Simmen (SUI), Seb Toutant (CAN), Andre Kuhlmann (GER) and Eirik Haugo (NOR) the Legends crew traveled to every corner of the globe from Japan to Turkey, discovering terrific terrains. Jeremy Jones and Stefan Gimpl joined the Legends crew in Turkey, and uncovered the roots of snowboarding: during freeriding in the Cackar Mountains they met locals who have been snowboarding for 150 years on homemade wooden boards, including Celime, 62, the oldest rider in the village. In Japan they discovered the legend of ‚snow woman’ Yuki-onna and enjoyed trips to Japan’s amazing backcountry. More inspirational locations include among others the Swiss resort Les Marecottes (Jeremy Jones riding down a spine under the full moon at 4.30am), the Canadian Rockies and the European Alps.
