DAW | English | December 2, 2014 | ISBN: 0756407699 | 352 pages | azw, epub, lrf, mobi | 5,31 mb

I am an unrepentant Lackey fan, as should be expressed early, so my bias where her world of Velgarth is concerned can be understood immediately. The stories contained in this issue of Valdamar's anthologies are in many cases a return of old friends. Most of these stories are from the view of characters previously met in other anthologies. It is a comfort to be able to grieve with Herald Wil, to laugh with Vanyel, and to see new triumphs and tragedy woven through a place that is like this anthology, both familiar and new.

I’ve been hired to play telepathic bodyguard for Tommy, the ten-year-old son of a superior court judge in Savannah presiding over the murder trial of a mob-connected mogul.

Harper | English | 2014-12-02 | ISBN: 0062266527 | 304 pages | azw, epub, lrf, mobi | 3,23 mb

I have read a couple of Phillip Margolin's books in the past, and I typically enjoy them. "Woman with a Gun" was pretty much what I was expecting, and thus I was not disappointed. It's a quick read, tightly paced, with a variety of modestly defined characters. Some of the plot twists I could anticipate, while others snuck up on me. This is the interesting story of a compelling photograph and the murder mystery at the center of it.

I have read many books on the Kennedys and JFK Jr. specifically. This is the only one that made me see him as a normal individual. I loved the stories of the ribbing and practical jokes JFK Jr dished out to Matt Berman and others. It is very rare that you read anything deragatory about JFK Jr. and he seemed to be honestly loved by all who really knew him. I also was glad to read that Carolyn was also a lovely person. She is so often depicted as an ice princess and did come across that way in many photos.

In ''Legion,'' a short, distinctly contemporary novella filled with suspense, humor, and an endless flow of invention, Sanderson revealed a startling new facet of his singular narrative talent.

I read this book in a very few long bursts. I couldn't put it down. The sensitive, raw subject matter tapped into my own history, unlocking many memories of events and times thought long faded; many of them made me smile and think fondly; many of them very emotional and challenging. The stark descriptions of a working class town, heavily reliant on heavy industry and how it fades and impacts the community echoed with my experiences, albeit experienced when a decade or so older.
