5 Days to Die #1-5 (of 5) Complete

“5 Days to Die” is a five-issue weekly mini-series with each issue focusing on a single day that Ray Crisara has left to live after a car accident that also seriously injured his wife and daughter. It’s an interesting high concept and delivering it over the course of the month of September works with the concept. The story has a weak start, but gathers steam with each issue, developing into a nice, unique variation on the old short-time-to-live-and-resolve-conflicts plot. Given the short amount of time between issues, the creative team of writer Ady Schimdt and artist Chee delivers. Surprisingly good. All high-quality Minutemen-DTs scans.

Ray Crisara, a tough cop who’s survived a terrible car accident, discovers his wife is dead and his daughter in critical condition. Believing this was a planned hit by the city’s drug lord he’s been pursuing, Ray’s brain injury leaves him five days before he dies to track the killer or be there for his little girl… Ray’s clock is ticking. --
