He achieved the height of his popularity during World War II as a symbol of the fight against the Axis powers. This series with the long attention-getting title is definitely a tie-in to Marvel Comics' 70th Anniversary and perhaps also functions as Marvel Comics' subtextual patriotic contribution in honor of the soldiers deployed in the Wars the U.S. is now involved; whatever the aim, it has helped generate renewed interest in this iconic figure of comic book history. This brings to seven the total number of issues in this series of one-shot specials.
