is a 4-issue limited series with cover dates February to May 2009 conceptualized to fit into the new Marvel Noir Universe. In this world, their more famous characters are re-imagined in the gritty, grainy world of detective novels and black and white movies, hence the cognomen, "noir." The setting is Manhattan immediately after the Great Depression...
The Great Depression has ended, and a mysterious world has emerged. The mob, the power-hungry, and the corrupted all rule and hope seems long gone. This world desperately cries out for heroes, and they get them; recognizable but in ways you never expected! These are people who must make a stand and find the hero – or the villain – in each of them. Who will rise and who will fall? Murder, mystery, and mayhem surround this hard hitting, razor-edged world. Welcome to world of Marvel Noir. : With great power, there must also come great responsibility — and when those in power abuse it, it’s the people’s responsibility to remove them. The year is 1933, and New York City is not-so-secretly run by corrupt politicians, crooked cops, big businesses…and suave gangland bosses like New York’s worst, the Goblin. But when a fateful spider-bite gives the young rabble-rouser Peter Parker the power to fight the mobster who killed his Uncle Ben, will even that be enough? It’s a tangled web of Great Depression pulp, with familiar faces like you’ve never seen them before... : With the bite of a fateful spider, Peter Parker finally got the power to go up against the rotten gangland of Depression-era New York…the insidious, far-reaching, unstoppable crime machine that killed his beloved Uncle Ben…but will it kill him as well? Spider-Man’s brash confrontation with Norman Osborn, the slick gangster nicknamed the Goblin, may be his final heroic act! By David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky and Carmine Di Giandomenico.
