Sony World Photography Awards 2009

February 24, 2009 was published shortlist Sony World Photography Awards (WPA). In the shortlist included the names of 186 photographers from 43 countries worldwide. They all competed in various categories at a young but rapidly gaining popularity and competition from Sony, are actively going on fotorynok.

Judicial Committee consisting of the world's photographers, representatives of major agencies, publishers and critics have made their choice, looking at 36,546 applications in the occupational categories and 25370 applications from amateur photographers.
In the professional part of the competition in each of the 12 categories were selected a maximum of 10 finalists. All of them were divided into three genres: Photo Journalism and Documentary (News, Sports, issues of modernity and the Arts and Entertainment); Business (Advertising, Fashion and Music) and Art (Portrait, Abstraction and create, Science, and Landscape Architecture).
