XfrogPlants Version 2.0 Bonsai Library | 461.5 mb

Bonsai contains 3d tree models of 20 species of tree modeled in authentic bonsai styles. Each species includes 3 variations in size and style for a total of 60 highly detailed, fully textured 3D models. The 3d trees in this library have been modeled following Bonsai rules and traditions as closely as possible.

    History

The concept behind Xfrog is to give the user, powerful building blocks of Nature as modeling tools. Rather than draw, loft, extrude, revolve, the user procedurally defines organic forms using sliders.
XfrogPlants, are 30 libraries of popular plants, (2000+ plant models), and are built by botanical experts who gather real leaves and bark and painstakingly match photographic references to derive 3-9 variations of each Species of plants that they model.
The XfrogPlants are in all popular 3d formats and available as individual models, libraries, and bundles of libraries in our online shop.

In XfrogPlants Version 2.0 Bonsai Library included:

    - Acer campestre
This 3D Field Maple contains three highly detailed, fully textured 3D models of the plant at different ages.
Notes: The Field Maple is one of those humble but truly characteristic rural trees of Europe. In the past, European farmers used it to support the vine rows. It used to be the most diffused European Maple, but today more decorative maple species are often preferred for urban decoration.
    - Acer palmatum
This 3D Japanese Maple contains three highly detailed, fully textured 3D models of the plant at different ages.
Notes: The Japanese Maple is widely diffused in city parks all over the world, because of the gorgeous Autumn colors. Many cultivars have been produced of this tree, with different leaf sizes and colors. The Japanese Maple is sensitive to late frost and should be planted in a sheltered position.
    - Carpinus betulus
This 3D Hornbeam contains three highly detailed, fully textured 3D models of the plant at different ages.
Notes: The Hornbeam is a humble but sometimes majestic rural tree. Once common in Europe's mixed broadleaf forests (with English Oak, Sweet Chestnut, European Beech and Hazel), it is much less diffused today. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Hornbeam became a high-society fashionable tree for decoration of villas' boulevards.
    - Chamaecyparis obtusa
This 3D Hinoki False Cypress contains three highly detailed, fully textured 3D models of the plant at different ages.
Notes: The Hinoki Falsecypress loves to grow in full direct sunlight. It’s wood is very much prized in Japan. As a decorative species, it is often planted in city parks throughout the world. Some dwarf garden cultivars exist.

In addition to the collection included Bansai: Cryptomeria japonica, Fagus sylvatica, Ficus carica, Ginkgo biloba, Juniperus occidentalis, Juniperus rigida, Larix kaempferi, Malus domestica, Olea europaea, Picea glauca, Pinus parviflora, Pinus sylvestris, Prunus armeniaca, Rhododendron indicum, Ulmus minor, Zelkova serrata.
