Tim Haas, composer and master's student at the MHL: "For me, THIS IS THE FUTURE is a piece that is meant to remind us that the future begins today and that every moment has the potential to influence the future. I imagine the future in a similar way to how the piece was created: different musical styles, instruments and people from different backgrounds work together to create an overall result in which everyone ultimately finds a place.

The music moves between orchestral classical music, groovy club music and free improvisation. The wake-up call THIS IS THE FUTURE sounds in many different languages. As an indication of the diversity, the composition appears in three different versions, as a long version with many improvisations, as a single version and as a remix produced by Jan Stöber, also a former student at the Lübeck University of Music. For Tim Haas, the album release marks the completion of his bachelor's and master's studies at the Lübeck University of Music, where he chose to focus on searching for and creating new ways of communicating music.
