plop* – composers and musicians burst their social bubbles. Knowledge and experiences are exchanged, previously thought impossible collaborations emerge. Styles dissolve, authorship is collectivized, and the soul of the community remains.

plop* lives cross-border collaborations, makes them tangible and thus paints a better future.

Collaboration in heterogeneous groups gives diverse people a voice. This allows for collaborative solutions to musical problems that are acceptable and work for everyone. Such solutions are becoming increasingly important today, as social media algorithms are driving the division of society into social bubbles. Collaborative composing brings people together. Music is created; we engage with people we know only too easily, exchange knowledge, and practice consideration and compassion. The ability to collaborate and shape a future together is honed.

The pieces are written in pairs with the composers, and compositional problems are solved together. The compositions demonstrate that people with different ideas, backgrounds, ages, genders, and stylistic preferences can work together.

The instrumentation and lineup reflect the idea of ​​cross-border and cross-gender collaboration: classically trained musicians, musicians from jazz or improvised music, and self-taught musicians come together, striving for gender and age equality. The social bubbles of the scenes burst—pop*.
