A contrabass concerto released in 2015 as a commissioned work of Nippon Television's music program "Yomikyo Symphonic Live". Shigeru Ishikawa, who fascinated the audience as a soloist at the world premiere, teamed up with Joe Hisaishi again in 2017 and was recorded by FOC (formerly NCO). The carefully calculated intertwining of the bass contrabass (hence a rare concerto) and the orchestra is a must-listen.

At the request of Mr. Nobuyo Fukukawa, who is also the principal horn player of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, this work was created over a full year from the conception and was released in February 2020 as a concerto by three horns. The recorded sound source is a live performance by Hisaishi's own conductor and the world premiere of FOC. A horn concerto performed by Nobuyo Fukukawa, Mika Toyoda, and Marie Fujita in a wonderful combination.

The orchestra restarted in 2019 with a new name under the call of Joe Hisaishi. Based on the former Nagano Chamber Orchestra (NCO), which has been based in the Nagano City Museum of Art since 2016, young top-class performers who are active in Japan and overseas gather. Rhythm-oriented performances analyzed from the perspective of composer Joe Hisaishi are full of propulsion and vitality, and bring classical music back to the present day with an innovative approach. The program that interweaves "contemporary music" including Hisaishi's work has been well received. It took three years from 2016 to work on the performance of all Beethoven's symphonies, and it became a hot topic that the culmination of it, "Hisaishi Yuzuru Beethoven: Complete Symphonies" won the 57th Record Academy Award Special Category Special Award in 2019. Since 2020, he has been working on the performance of all Brahms symphonies, and has been transmitting it not only to Japan but also to the world as an orchestra that conveys a new way of music for the future.
