In 2016 Neue Meisters organized together with the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin and the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum in Berlin three concerts. On the occasion of these concerts international top composers from completely different currents met for a common task: Everyone should compose or arrange a new work for orchestra. On the double album "New Masters Live in Berlin", all these works are assembled and present a unique cross-section through the current spectrum of compositional work worldwide.

The three New Masters Concerts were always dedicated to a musical theme. The first concert, which took place on 29.02.2016, devoted itself to the broad musical work in Berlin - an international hotspot for composers of the young generation. For this concert, Federico Albanese, Johannes Motschmann, Paul Frick, Fabian Russ and Henrik Schwarz have arranged or composed new works. The musical spectrum ranges from the almost neo-romantically orchestrated pianist of Albanese to the "orchestronic" bombast of Fabian Russ. On the other hand, the famous DJ and producer Henrik Schwarz presents a completely acoustic work for orchestras and also Paul Frick - known by Brandt Brauer Frick - only uses acoustic elements. Johannes Motschmann has sought to connect synthesizers and orchestras. The second concert on June 19, 2016 took place under the motto "Crossing Borders" and gathered composers whose music influences from different cultures or genre. The works of Gilad Hochman and Matthew Herbert have been written or produced for this concert. Hochman's work Nedudim (wandering) also deals with his life between Israel and Berlin. Herbert has created a musical social criticism and a commentary on the refugee crisis with live samples. At the "Driven by Inspiration" concert on November 6, 2016, all the composers involved discussed "old masters" and their examples. The British composer Ben Palmer wrote his work Bach Dreams for Francesco Tristano in Neihou, inspired by the minimalistic structures of Detroit Techno.
