Don't let the name deceive you: Bloodhound is a loyal watchdog. He really likes taking care of all your services e.g. hosts in the internet. If these can't be reached, he lets you know.
When Bloddhound detects danger he howls. And if you are not sitting in front of your screen, or need to alert somebody, who is at a remote location, Bloodhound program will send them an email message.
Bloodhound does not stop there however, it also tells you when that site is up again. What more can you want? Oh, so you want other applications to be started? Don't worry, Bloodhound can do that easily.
