Autodesk Inc., has released first update to Autodesk Advance Steel 2019. Advance Steel detailing software is built on the AutoCAD platform. Structural engineering professionals use the software to help accelerate design, steel detailing, steel fabrication, and steel construction.

New in Advance Steel 2019:

GENERAL APPLICATION
- The Migrate Custom Settings Tool was enhanced to support more advanced detailing options coming from core databases, used in various style, process or miscellaneous detailing configurations.
Migration from .mdf databases is possible, with improved performance, as database conversion is no longer needed.
Authors are converted, ensuring that all table conversion performed will also transfer the current author and set it as expected.
Object presentation color, model object and model object script filter custom settings are transferred by migrating their relevant tables from AstorDetailsBase.
The detailing symbol and weld symbol configurations are considered during the AstorBase migration.
Miscellaneous detailing options such as detailing scales and camera types are considered during the AstorBase migration.
All the custom attributes from the AstorBase database that are duplicated in the AstorAddIn database are migrated to allow users that prefer those customizations in a shared AstorBase to transfer their settings.
The Connection Vault favorites are correctly migrated for all non-English language installations.
- Solved an issue with the A4 steel class that was not shown correctly in the Management Tools, Bolts category.
- Restored the missing icons for precast and standard concrete profiles of beams inside the Advance Properties dialog.
- Solved an issue that prevented opening the Model Browser after using the Enter key to validate a change in it.
- Preferred sizes profiles can now be deleted from Management Tools using the dedicated button.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Hole Tolerance to be uncontrollably transmitted to all bolts selected in multi-edit.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the Migration Tool to not migrate some palette data (number of columns, colors, etc).
- Fixed an issue that triggered an unwanted modification of the Behavior options of the input beams after copying a connection using the "Copy by template" command.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Search Filter to not filter objects the second time it was used, if opening the dialog and using the OK button directly (without cycling through the tabs first) even though the correct filtering options were already selected.
- Fixed an issue that prevented access to the GTCMapping database from Management Tools, after a successful IFC import.
- Fixed an incorrect shape of bolts resulted as a duplication of standard bolts.
- "%" wildcards can be used while editing the input elements inside the Connection Library settings.
- Solved an issue that caused the Country Settings and Configuration dialog to appear during plot in background process.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when using the AutoCAD "-block" command on concrete slabs.
- Fixed an issue causing preferred materials not to be taken into consideration for beams.
CREATE AND MANAGE DRAWINGS
- The mechanism for detecting manual dimension points was improved to prevent the "dimension point jump" by a great margin, during detail update, which in some cases would also lead to a dimension chain move. See About Detecting Manual Dimension Points.
- The functionality that automatically rearranged all labels placed according to compass orientation can now be disabled using a default available in the Management Tools application. See Enable or the Disable Automatic Compass Label Arrangement.
- The automatic quantity value that was applied to all the labels on identical and overlapping elements can now be disabled using a default value in the Management Tools application. See Enable or Disable the Automatic Object Quantity Value in Labels.
- The horizontal grid that can appear on elevation views when the default "Display horizontal grid line in details" is activated in Management Tools, provides snap points accepted by Advance Steel manual dimensions. See Horizontal Grid Symbol in Elevation Views for Manual Dimensions.
- The compass symbol that shows the compass orientation and appears in one of the view corners, can be manually moved and stays in place during update. By default, the symbol will still use the drawing style configuration position setting, but once the drawing is generated, its position will accept manual adjustment and the style setting will no longer be applied to reset its position.
- Solved an issue where the width size set during manual cut creation was not automatically applied to the cut.
- Solved an issue where the dimension text of slope manual dimensions would swap position during update.
- Solved an issue where the dimension style could not be manually changed in some cases.
- Solved an issue where the callout view frame on the main view would lock the area for automatic dimension and symbol arrangement, triggering a cut view / dimension move during update.
- Solved an issue where the callout label was incorrectly placed after changing the scale of the host view.
- Solved an issue where the beam color was incorrectly controlled strictly by the weld preparation object presentation.
- Solved an issue where sometimes manually modified cut/callout view requests in the Management Tools application would not be correctly considered in Advance Steel, leading to "Mainpart cuts are valid for overview" generic error messages.
- Solved an issue where grid balloons were sometimes incorrectly placed on clipped oblique lines drawings.
- Solved an issue where edge preparation faces would sometimes be missing from detail views.
- Solved an issue where corner cuts would sometimes influence the arrangement of unfolded views in an unexpected way. Now the length of the edge influence over the automatic view arrangement has a greater priority.
- Solved an issue where "Unique cut view names in the drawing sheet" default was leading to an inconsistent naming in the callout views.
- Solved a drawing style import issue where styles coming from Advance Steel 2016 or older versions were imported with an incorrect setting for the Hide Dimension Point option. This setting will now correctly set itself to "No" for styles coming from older versions, where the option was not available.
- Publish detail in background will now correctly apply the blank background functionality to Advance Steel labels and dimensions.
- Opening the Advance Detail Properties dialog should no longer disable the blank background functionality for Advance Steel labels and dimensions.
- Moving labels that use the blank background will no longer reset the background size increment.
- Manually modifying the Callout frame using its grip points when set on "Circular" representation will no longer trigger an oversized green frame after drawing update.
- Fixed an issue involving rectangular camera presentation in overview details.
- Fixed an issue with bolts that were not visible on camera details generated by a process, if the bolts did not connect anything.
- Fixed an issue with arc dimensions that were placed too far away on a curved beam detail.
- Fixed an issue which caused the bolt quantity to be computed by numbering the bolts given the main part number and the single part number. For the models where the single part number was invalid, some bolts were numbered multiple times.
- Fixed an issue where automatic clipping was not consistently applied in specific situations.
- Fixed an issue where the main view disappeared after creating a manual cut view.
- Fixed an issue that caused views to be deleted from the source detail but not to be moved to the target detail, when using drag and drop in the Document Manager.
- Fixed an issue that caused some in-use representation rules to be deleted by "Compact and Purge" in the Drawing Style Manager.
- Fixed an issue regarding combining labels on detail update.
- Fixed an issue where the dimension text was overlapping the dimension line when the fraction representation was set to "not stacked".
- Fixed a manual dimension issue that occurred when the detail was updated.
- Fixed an issue that caused the content of a labeling strategy to not be completely displayed if it was longer than 255 characters.
- Fixed the Fisher THERM plus ML 100 cladding profiles.
- Fixed an issue involving incorrect dimension directions for the "Development front, right" drawing style on the UK installation.
- Fixed an issue that caused Advance Steel to crash during detailing, in specific situations, when complex features were created on gratings.
- Changing the points of automatic dimension will no longer make points reappear on automatic dimension chains during update.
- Fixed an issue that caused the callout view title to overlap the view elements when changing the cut title position to "Above the view".
- The callout frame line type default setting is now working as intended.
- Fixed an issue that caused the beam profiles viewed from the side to provide incorrect mid-air profile shape snap points.
- Fixed an issue that triggered an oversized green frame after changing the drawing scale, when adding slope symbols.
- Added the possibility to choose the DWG 2013 format for the exploded details.
- Improved the BOM Editor loading time when handling anchors without part mark and mapping being active.
- Fixed an issue that caused external BOM formulas to not compute on "Saw list with pictures" templates.
3D MODELING
- Solved an issue with the A4 steel class that was not shown correctly in the Management Tools, Bolts category.
- Restored the missing icons for precast and standard concrete profiles of beams inside the Advance Properties dialog.

- Fixed a crash that could occur when using the AutoCAD "-block" command on concrete slabs.
COLLABORATION
- Solved an issue where slotted holes were ignored by the Maximum Hole Diameter for NC defaults and were still outputted as holes instead of NC outer contours.
- Solved an issue where holes outputted in NC as outer contours would get an incorrect diameter.
- Restored the ability to set preferred grating types in Management Tools and correctly show the changes in Advance Steel.
- Greatly improved the NC creation speed for complex assemblies with hundreds of attached parts.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the changes of the NC/DXF settings from being applied in NC and DXF files.
- Fixed an issue that manifested through an incorrect SFR export if an additional parameter was added for numbering assemblies or single parts.
