Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2018.1 Update 1

Autodesk Inc., a world leader in 3D design software for entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and civil infrastructure, has released an update to Moldflow Adviser 2018.1, is injection molding simulation software, part of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping, provides wizard-based tools to help validate and optimize plastic part, injection mold, and tool designs before manufacturing begins.

Using a digital prototype to simulate the plastic injection molding process helps reduce the number of costly physical prototypes required to design plastic parts and helps get innovative products to market faster and with greater confidence. Autodesk Moldflow Adviser software helps to simplify plastic injection molding simulation and optimize mold features such as gates, runners, and cavity layouts. Intuitive to learn and use, it guides designers, mold makers, and engineers through simulation setup and results interpretation, providing advice on potential defects and suggestions for corrective action. Learn how changes to wall thickness, gate location, material, geometry, and mold designs affect manufacturability. By helping to resolve and clearly communicate potential problems, Autodesk Moldflow Adviser software enables engineers to confidently design plastic parts.

This release introduces new features and enhancements that expand our capabilities, enhance solution accuracy, and reduce time to solution. This release can be installed side-by-side with previous releases. You don't need to uninstall existing products on your computer.

- Network License Manager
Note: It is important that you review the corporate installation documents before you install this product. Autodesk 2018.1 products include NLM version 11.13; all network license servers working with 2018.1 products must also run NLM version 11.13. The 2018.1 clients cannot get licenses from a server running NLM 11.12 or lower. However, older versions of Autodesk products will still work on NLM 11.13.
Read the Installation Administrator's Guide to obtain all the information you need to install and configure the Network License Manager.
Warning: The network license manager is installed into the directory C:\Autodesk\. During installation, the default path is written as C:\Program File\Autodesk, but the network license manager is always installed into the C:\Autodesk directory, even if you change the default location.
- SimStudio Tools
If, after installing Moldflow 2018 products, you can't run SimStudio Tools 2016 R3, uninstall SimStudio Tools 2016 R3 and reinstall it from the 2018.1 installer you are running.
- Known issues
Install Windows updates if you see the following error message when you install on a Windows 8.1 platform.

Note: With this Autodesk Moldflow Advisers 2018.1 Update 1, long fiber materials with shrinkage data use the default fiber orientation model, as expected. This 2018.1 Update 1 need only be applied to systems directly affected by the material changes described above, as these are the only changes it addresses.
