The GeometricPLM development team is pleased to announce the availability of CAMWorks 2022 SP2 (build 2022/1026) is an intuitive, feature-based CAM software that helps to increase productivity using best-in-class technologies and adaptable automation tools to maximize CNC machining efficiency.

CAMWorks constantly updates its software to satisfy the requirements of the manufacturing industry, as well as offering features to assist manufacturers through its software.

What’s New in CAMWorks for Solid Edge 2022 SP2 (build 2022/1026)

1. CW-116304 CSR-20910 TechDB In Turn mode, when you right click on any Turn feature in the feature tree and select parameters to view the Feature Parameters dialog box, by clicking on the TechDB ID on the strategy drop-down list launches TechDB application and displays the features and operations. However, data for the wrong TechDB ID is getting displayed.
2. CWR-2054 –– Toolpath When the 3 Axis Mill Toolpath generation method is set to ‘Advanced’, the Offset Curve option 'Contain only' for Constant Stepover operations behaves like "Contain and Avoid", resulting in incorrect toolpaths.
3. CWR-2048 CSR-20603 Toolpath When the 3 Axis Mill Toolpath generation method is set to ‘Advanced’, for the specific part’s Area Clearance toolpath, the tool diameter is 100% engaged in the 'Area Clearance' 'Pocket In Core' pattern due to incorrectly considering the stock geometry with XY stepover.
4. CWR-2044 CSR-20516 Toolpath When the 3 Axis Mill Toolpath generation method is set to ‘Advanced’ and the toolpath is generated for the specific part using Lace Pattern, the resultant toolpath has inconsistent behavior for entry moves.
5. CW-115397 CSR-20495 TechDB When customized TechDB is used in Metric mode and user navigates to User Defined Tools within the Mill Tooling menu, the concerned user interface fails to launch.
6. CW-115356 CSR-20392 User Interface In Assembly mode, for any operation when the holder is changed from ‘user defined’ to ‘basic’, the holder information gets updated, but the corresponding image and the model does not get updated and remains as ‘User defined’ only.
7. CW-115309 CSR-20399 Simulation When using Fixture Avoidance with “Avoid All” option is used for the Contour Mill toolpath of the specific Mill part, the NC code crashes but the Contour Mil toolpath move causing the crash is not visible when executing Simulation.
8. CWR-2038 CSR-20355 Toolpath When the 3 Axis Mill Toolpath generation method is set to ‘Advanced’ and a Pattern Project toolpath is generated for a filleted surface of a specific mill part, the resultant toolpath is making an incorrect liner link move from the vertical feature edge geometry
9. CWR-2033 CSR-20153 Toolpath When the 3 Axis Mill Toolpath generation method is set to ‘Advanced’ and a Z Level toolpath is generated for a specific part using a tool with tapered non-cutting portion, a poor quality toolpath is generated. Increasing the toolpath length amount causes more cycle time. This issue was not present in CAMWorks For Solid Edge 2019 version.
10. CWR-2031 CSR-20136 Toolpath When the 3 Axis Mill Toolpath generation method is set to ‘Advanced’ and a Z Level toolpath is generated for the specific part using Ramp linking type, the link moves move off the feature surface and tool contact is lost.
11. CW-115089 CSR-20157 Post In Mill Assembly mode, when stock of type "Pre-definedBounding Box" is selected, the variables "STOCK_MIN" and "STOCK_MAX" does not output the correct coordinates in posted NC code as per the Coordinate System selected.
12. CW-115062 CW-113036 CSR-20250 CSR-19123 VoluMill For the specific Mill part, the VoluMill toolpath generated contains an unnecessary secondary pass.
13. CW-115032 CSR-20055 TechDB When the specific user-defined TechDB linked to CAMWorks for Solid Edge 2022 version is opened, the TechDB does not list the MC (Metric Coarse) and MF(Metric Fine) Thread Mill definitions properly in the concerned user interface.
14. CW-115028 CSR-20163 Post In CAMWorks For Solid Edge 2022, when a post operation is inserted by right mouse click of a setup, then it is inserted after the last available operation in the operation tree.
15. CW-115000 CSR-20093 Toolpath For the specific Mill-Turn part, the Link move of its Area Clearance toolpath runs through uncut stock with no control available for retracting in Z. This is happening due to presence of an unnecessary feed move.
16. CWR-2026 CSR-19943 Toolpath In Mill mode, when Z Level toolpaths are generated using the Advanced Method, if the cut type for Z level toolpath is changed to ‘helical’, then it still uses the horizontal arc parameters for calculating toolpath moves though they are not supported for the helical cut type.
17. CW-114948 CSR-20068 Toolpath For the specific Mill part, the Contour Mill toolpath gouges the part on the finish side passes when “Single cut depth” option is checked with “Spring pass” option selected at the side parameter. Gouging is observed at the Lead in.
18. CW-114947 CSR-10230 Toolpath For the specific part containing a slot feature with chamfer, the contour mill toolpath generated gouges the part on finish side passes when “Single cut depth” option is checked at the side parameter. The gouge occurs at lead in.

22. CW-114691 CSR-19927 Toolpath For any mill part, when the retract point is selected (Arc Centre or point) for Contour Mill toolpath with Ramp option checked then it generates incorrect toolpath. The toolpath makes angular move downwards to the setup XY plane and then retract in Z direction.
23. CW-114623 CSR-19886 TechDB In the customized TechDB, the Default Operation Parameters User Interface Page for Probing tool is blank in Inch mode.
24. CW-114608 CSR-19855 Rebuild For the specific assembly, the Fixture Coordinate System assigned by the user is incorrectly located and doesn’t get reset even after multiple Rebuild attempts.
25. CW-114584 CSR-19841 Feature When the ‘Engrave feature’ option is selected for Contour Mill operation, the ‘Zigzag’ option within Depth processing group box is grayed out. However, when the Rest machining option is changed from ‘None’ to ‘Previous tool’ and back to ‘None’, then the ‘Zigzag’ option gets activated. This is unexpected behavior.
26. CW-114583 CSR-19839 Operation For Multiaxis mill operation, under Links tab, if you switch from % (Percentage) to mm for the Links threshold parameter, then it displays a value computed on the basis of 50% of the tool diameter instead of 50% of the max stepover.
