CSI Perform3D 8.1.0 build 1171 | 249.6 mb
Computers and Structures, Inc. (CSI) is pleased to announce the availability of CSI Perform3D 8.1.0 build 1171 is a structural-engineering software useful for the performance assessment of structural systems.
This document lists changes made to Perform3D since v8.0.0, released 15-June-2021.
Enhancements Implemented
8645 The version number has been changed to v8.1.0 for a new intermediate release.
Analysis - Incidents Resolved
7060 An incident was resolved where Perform3D v8 would not read the analysis results from a model run in Perform3D v7 if any analysis series did not fully complete its run.
7501 An incident was resolved where any pushover load cases trying to select only a few defined drifts to control the analysis would actually select all of them and use them in the analysis.
7649 An incident was resolved in the Run Analyses Parallel task (Analysis phase) where, when the number of analysis series set to run in parallel exceeds the number of physical cores available to the program, the last selected analysis series may not start. When this issue occurred, the parallel analysis progress was unable to complete because of the analysis series that was unable to start. This issue did not affect analysis series that were able to start running.
7859 An incident was resolved where parallel progress form has now been modified to display the status of running analysis series. In some cases process was not showing in the task manager but could be seen in the resource monitor.
8471 An incident was resolved where an error condition was reported at analysis time when an old Perform3D V5 file with Upper/Lower Bound settings was opened and run in Perform3D V8.0.0.
Data Files - Incidents Resolved
8142 An incident was resolved where an error condition could be caused after performing the following sequence of steps: Deleting all analysis series in a model; saving and reopening the model, then going to the Analysis Task.
Database Tables - Incidents Resolved
8247 An issue was resolved where the relative and absolute relative locations reported in the "Frame Results - Bending Deformations" tables were swapped for enveloped results. This was a issue in the reported locations only and did not affect analysis results.
Results Display and Output - Incidents Resolved
7662 An incident was resolved that affected reporting in the modal analysis output file M000.txt. For a model with masses at restrained degrees of freedom, the "Effective Modal Masses as Proportions of Total Mass" output is separated into two parts: (1.) Considering only masses at unrestrained nodes, and (2.) Considering all masses. The latter category was previously reported incorrectly and has been fixed. This was a reporting issue and did not effect other analysis results.
7679 An issue was resolved in the Target Displacement Plot task (Analysis phase) where the vertical line indicating the target displacement was not displayed in the graphical user interface. This was a display issue only and did not affect analysis results.
8291 An incident was resolved where the usage ratio colors shown in the Combinations and Envelopes task (Analysis Phase) could incorrectly show a usage ratio color for elements that did not participate in the selected limit state(s). This issue could occur in element groups that had a mix of elements, some of which contributed to the limit state and other elements that did not contribute to the limit state. This was a display issue that only affected the Combinations and Envelopes task (Analysis Phase), and it only affected the usage ratios reported for elements that did not contribute to the selected limit state(s). The usage ratios for elements that did contribute to the selected limit state(s) were unaffected.
8485 An incident was resolved where the Combinations and Envelopes task (Analysis Phase) was unable to plot usage ratio data if the model had Structure Section or Deformation type limit states. When this issue occurred, an error message "Can not find a key results file (ZF)" was shown. This issue affected only the Combinations and Envelopes task (Analysis Phase) plot and display. Analysis results from the database tables and other tasks were not affected.
User Interface - Incidents Resolved
7477 An issue was resolved for the Component Properties task (Build phase) where changing a cross section component that was used in the properties of another basic component, such as an End Zone for a Beam or Column, could cause an abnormal termination error.
7678 An incident was resolved where the option to sort files by date on the Open Existing Structure form was not working as expected.
8596 An incident was resolved where program resulted in an error under certain conditions when switching back to the modeling phase from the analysis phase if the analysis phase gave a warning message of "Missing Data".

Perform3D is an ideal tool for nonlinear performance-based analysis and design, created by Dr. Graham H. Powell, University of California at Berkeley Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering.
Perform3D is a structural-engineering software useful for the performance assessment of structural systems. State-of-the-art constitutive-modeling capabilities enable characterization of material nonlinearity, including strength and stiffness degradation during component-level hysteresis. Analysis capabilities also extend to geometric nonlinearity and effects associated with P-Delta behavior. Advanced modeling tools enable a sophisticated simulation of structural behavior. Components may be grouped according to type, location, and limit state before evaluation proceeds in terms of strength or deformation-based demand-capacity ratio. The dynamic display of D-C usage is available through color-coordinated time-history animations.
