HBM Prenscia announces the release of version 13.1 release of nCode DesignLife, GlyphWorks, and VibeSys, offering improvements in its suite of powerful software for FE-based fatigue analysis, signal processing, vibration analysis, and durability.

What's new in HBM nCode 13.1:

nCode DesignLife 13.1 introduces a new ”glyph” for reconstructing load histories without the use of Python. This new glyph calculates the input force time histories required to cause a set of measured strains. These forces are valuable inputs used for design purposes and further engineering simulations. Error bounds on the predicted load histories are estimated from the measured strain histories providing guidance on the accuracy of the predicted loads. nCode DesignLife 13.1 also demonstrates impressive gains in both analysis and translation stages. The standard capability of stress-life (SN) and strain-life (EN) analysis calculations have been enhanced by the additional critical distance method for notch sensitivity along with a 3D critical plane method.

Noise and Vibration engineers benefit from greater flexibility for experimentally determining natural frequencies and mode shapes using nCode VibeSys 13.1. For instance, the modal frequencies found using the Experimental Modal Analysis glyph can be displayed as cursors on the measured spectra, enabling users to visualize them graphically. The Operating Deflection Shape display glyph is now also easier to set up for animating measured deflections. Users can graphically select nodes from the model and specify any direction vector when mapping input channels. Once mapped, those nodes are then clearly identified, making it easier to understand how the mapping was done.

nCode GlyphWorks 13.1 provides users with new display capabilities and higher quality exports of PDF reports, allowing engineers to produce more meaningful displays in order to better understand behaviors, trends, or correlations between data. This release also provides a significant speed up increase for GlyphWorks run times, especially for more complex flows with larger numbers of glyphs and supports additional import file formats.

The Premium Materials Database contains new material entries populated from testing performed by our Advanced Materials Characterization & Test Facility (AMCT).
