Model Quality Assurance (MQA) is an automated SPICE model validation software which allows you to check and analyze SPICE model library, compare different models, and generate quality assurance (QA) reports in a complete and efficient way. With more than ten years of history, MQA has become the industry standard for SPICE model acceptance and signoff and is widely adopted by leading integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), foundries and design houses.

Enhancements

Simulators
- Supports the latest FineSim 2017.
- Supports the latest Analog FastSPICE (AFS) 2018.
Functions
- The TightLoopWithMeasData option is enhanced to support the benchmark rule.
- The DataTable option is enhanced by supporting the new Model column in a .csv file:
- A new function is added to enable selecting data in a rule: Syntax: NewTarget = Select(OldTarget, conditionstring) Example: Ids4 = Select(Ids," Vgs > Vth") # select Ids when Vgs > Vth
Reporting
- Adds an option to export the Setup information to the final report.
Others
- Enables to specify the directory to save the simulation cache, log files, and other temporary files by adding the MQA_TMPDIR option in the mqa.ini file.
- Adds the full document for the Constant Template in Lib Explorer.
- Adds the explanation of the CompareMode option in Compare QA.
- Support for parsing and plotting the additional instances in a mdm data file, such as lot, wafer, die, block, and meascond.
- Allows to parse the additional information in the [Measured Data] section of a noise data.
Issues Fixed
- Fixed that in some cases the generated table may lose some column information.
- Fixed the wrong N/P correlation simulation results by giving the same random seed in NMOS’s and PMOS’s netlist for Monte Carlo simulation.
- Fixed that in a specific case MQA failed to run the accuracy check with a 3T subckt resistor model with Spectre on Linux.
- Fixed that in a specific case the Vth_gm simulation result was abnormal for Fast-Slow corner model under low temperature.
- Fixed the incorrect simulation results for N/P correlation plot with ET data, in the case NMOS and PMOS have different geometry.

Model Builder Program (MBP) is a one-stop solution that provides both automation and flexibility for high-volume model generation. MBP includes automated extraction packages for industry standard models as well as an open interface for modeling strategy customization. Turnkey solutions are also provided for the advanced statistical and mismatch model extraction, layout proximity effects (LPE) modeling, static random access memory (SRAM) cell modeling, HVMOS modeling, scalable Inductor modeling and corner library generation.

Enhancement

Re-centering and Corner Tweaking
- The model Re-Centering module:
- Allows quick selection of multiple targets (with either the same device geometry or target) for optimization.
- Allows to export the Excel table with the additional Vertical format.
- By default, shortens the significant digits of the Error column in the Error Table to 6 digits.
- The Corner Tweaking module supports the corner plot for the NMOS and PMOS with different gate length/width.
Parameter effective value checking
- When loading a model, MBP now shows a warning message if any parameter’s effective value is out of boundary.
- When the Check Parameter Boundary is selected, MBP now shows a warning message if any parameter’s effective value is out of boundary.
- When the Enable Hard Boundary is selected, MBP’s hard boundary now takes effect on binned parameters as well.
GUI
- When multiple model cards are loaded and compared, MBP now enables to view the delta value of different models. Right-click on the plot and select View Model Compare Data. Browsers can be reordered by dragging the tag.
- Enables to set the significant digits for the Sigma and Mean displayed values in the statistical module.
- Adds the option to display Median Line, which connects the points representing the median values of WAT mapping data.

Other Enhancements

- Supports the 2x3 (row x column) layout when exporting PowerPoint (.PPT) document.
- Adds the complete documentation and demo data for the BSIM3 model extraction flows shipped with MBP.
Issues Fixed
- Fixed that the Extend Simulation function that did not work properly in the Corner Tweaking module
- Fixed a parametrized issue that when working on binned model in the Corner Tweaking module, only the parameter in the first bin was added the delta parameter correctly.
- Fixed several Mextram 504.11 simulation issues with internal Spectre.
- Fixed that the Pin function didn’t work on the plot which has been applied with Math Transform.
- Fixed that in some cases MBP falsely displayed certain instance values as zero when exporting PDF format tables.
- Fixed that the PSP model’s "scaling tweak" feature did not work properly.

Fixed the timing of the license checkout for an FEM or FDTD parallel distributed simulation. Until this update, the 8-pack license checked out immediately. Now, the license is checked out when the actual jobs are run.

WaferPro Express software performs automated wafer-level measurements of semiconductor devices such as transistors and circuit components. It provides turnkey drivers and test routines for a variety of instruments and wafer probers. Its new user interface makes it easy to setup and run complex wafer-level test plans, while powerful customization capabilities are enabled by the new Python programming environment.

WaferPro Express is a key software component of Wafer-level Measurement Solutions (WMS), a joint partnership program by Keysight Technologies and Cascade Microtech. WMS products drastically reduce time to first measurement and provide accurate and repeatable device and component characterization.

Starting with Version 2016.04, WaferPro Express is the official software platform for the Advanced Low frequency Noise Analyzer (A-LFNA), a high-performance noise analyzer designed to make accurate and repeatable low frequency noise measurements.

SystemVue 2018 supports the world’s first 3GPP compliant 5G NR library, including capabilities for over-the-air (OTA) test. GUI enhancements include a comprehensive keyword workspace search function and an explorer focused on finding key examples. There are also new examples for Automotive Radar including MIMO, RF and environment impairments.

Genesys 2018 introduces Vendor Parts Synthesis (VPS), a breakthrough circuit synthesis capability that overcomes a problem faced by all RF circuit designers when they need to select the correct values of RLC parts from component vendors to build their RF printed circuit boards. By using accurate parasitic models provided by Modelithics and integrated EM-circuit cosimulation within an intuitive user interface, VPS synthesizes a producible design with discrete RLC parts and microstrip interconnects that meets the original design specs. VPS even produces a bill-of-materials (BOM) and yield % based on component tolerances selected. What used to be a tedious trial-&-error RLC manual selection process which takes days can now be elegantly accomplished by VPS in minutes. VPS is a free upgrade to any Genesys bundle with full synthesis capability, starting from W1322BP.

Genesys 2018 also comes with significant enhancements to its Spectrasys RF system simulation capabilities with 20+ new digitally modulated RF signal formats for accurate ACPR and EVM analysis with its dataflow simulator from SystemVue at an affordable cost, starting from W1333BP. Spectrasys is now supported by system component vendor libraries of amplifiers, mixers, filters, couplers, etc. from Analog Devices, Mini Circuits, X-Microwave, Custom MMIC and others to enable accurate frequency dependent system behavioral models to be used in your system chain simulation. This means that when you are satisfied with the system line up analysis, the system component selection has also been accurately done – unlike traditional searching of components to match arbitrary assigned behavioral specs at single frequency.

Other performance and usability enhancements to the already easy-to-use Genesys platform makes Genesys 2018 a powerful but yet affordable upgrade to your essential RF design and synthesis tool.

To address the growing needs of the power electronics design community, IC-CAP 2018 delivers a new extraction suite for discrete devices. Equipped with a newly re-designed user interface, it includes extraction flows for three key technologies: GaN HEMT, IGBT and Si/SiC MOSFET. For experienced modeling engineers, the new extraction packages may be customized and tailored within IC-CAP. For power electronics design engineers, we present a standalone software that makes power electronics model extraction easy and accessible.

With the introduction of WaferPro and WaferPro Express, our customers began to generate large quantities of data. A new “Data Viewer” tool helps modeling engineers display and analyze this data.

Lastly, IC-CAP now adds full support to LAN and USB instrument connections commonly seen in modeling and characterization laboratories worldwide.

- CMOS Modeling Packages have been upgraded to versions BSIM4 4.8.1, HiSIM2 2.9.1, HiSIM HV 2.3.1, 2.3.2 and 2.3.3, PSP 103.4
