OpenRail Overhead Line Designer 2024 Update 2 (24.00.02.025) | 5.7 Gb
The Civil Product Team is pleased to announce the availability of OpenRail Overhead Line Designer 2024 Update 2 (24.00.02.025) the first comprehensive solution for rail electrification design and engineering with BIM.
What's New in OpenRail Overhead Line Designer 2024 Update 2 (24.00.02.025)
This release includes bug fixes and minor enhancements built upon the numerous improvements introduced in the 2024 release and fixes to the 2024 Update 1 software. As a minor update, files edited with this version are fully compatible with those edited with the 2024 release without the need for any upgrade or downgrade. Files from older versions are automatically upgraded when opened in this newer release. In addition, 2024 Update 2 automatically evaluates and heals files to ensure they are not impacted by the issue from 2024 Update 1. When a file is detected as previously opened with 2024 Update 1, the software will evaluate and heal it if required. One of four dialogs will appear based on the success of the healing process.

2024 Update 1 Issue
- Fixed the issue causing 2024 Update 1 to be removed, related to circular referencing of DGNs in child or derived profiles. Not all files opened with 2024 Update 1 were affected.
2024 Update 2 now automatically checks and heals affected DGN files when opened, ensuring they are not impacted by the previous issue. When a file is detected as previously opened with 2024 Update 1, the software will evaluate and heal it if required. One of four dialogs will appear based on the success of the healing process.
. The file was not affected by the issue
. The file was affected and has been successfully repaired
. The file was affected and has been repaired except for some objects that need to be recreated if they are still needed. These objects are shown in bold red and grouped for easy identification.
. The file was affected and has been repaired, but some pre-existing issues remain. It should still be fine to use. If problems arise, contact support.
Geometry Enhancements
Added ability to modify unacceptable slew values in the Regression Points table.
Drainage and Utilities Enhancements
Improved performance when computing an analysis scenario. A full update of the model will still be done for the first compute of an analysis scenario in a session, but subsequent computes of that scenario will only update the hydraulic results.

OpenRail Overhead Line Designer introduces a new, comprehensive modeling environment for rail overhead line and track design. Developed jointly by Bentley Systems and Siemens Mobility, it combines OpenRail Designer technology with Sicat Master. The application brings 3D to the world of overhead line catenary systems, advancing workflows beyond traditional plan production into the development of digital twins with asset information for the entire lifecycle. Implementation of digital twin technology will significantly decrease production time of construction deliverables, including plan layouts, reports and detailed structural erection diagrams.
