PCB Footprint Expert Enterprise 23.11

The software developer PCB Libraries, Inc is pleased to announce the availability of PCB Footprint Expert 2023.11 (23.11) Enterprise. This solution lets you effortlessly calculate and generate high-quality footprints in a fraction of the time it would take you to create them using a CAD tool library editor.

Fixes & Enhancements:

Calculators:
- Calculator now will not trim pads for any part with manufacturer’s dimensions and will display (in Footprint Warnings) which trimming functions were needed
- SMD Thermal Pads – Paste Mask checkerboard pattern created a non-symmetrical aperture when rounded corner pad shape was used
- Through-hole pad stacks – a minor adjustment was made to the PTH pad stack calculations for Thermal Relief patterns and Anti-pads
FP Designer:
- Via pad stack calculator was not producing the correct Anti-pad size
CAD Tool Interfaces:
- KiCad – versions 6 & 7 were not creating Rounded Rectangle or Chamfered Corner pad shape
- Eagle – rectangular through-hole pads were converted to square
- Allegro – Allegro import error ‘Form editprop1’
- CAD tool options are now saved to individual files (this allows multiple setups to be saved)

PCB Libraries was started in 2003 as a sole proprietorship and was based on a couple of decades worth of work. The LP Wizard we developed over 12 years ago has for the most part remained unchanged after getting acquired in 2008 by Valor. Valor was later acquired by Mentor Graphics.
