Prosoft Engineering Media Tools Professional v5.1

Prosoft Engineering Media Tools Professional v5.1 | 1.8MB

Data Recovery and Computer Forensic Software Self-booting CD, featuring unique "Direct Drive Access" technologies that bypass the BIOS to communicate directly with the drive's hardware. Plus, 5 recovery modules that have been refined over 10 years.

    What is MediaTools Professional?
Cycle-Clone / Reverse-Clone: Extract raw data from mechanically failing drives to another like drive, keeping them out of the clean-room (Used with File Recovery Tree, Boot and Partition Repair and Media Editor).
Cycle-Image: Image over a network. Creates an exact sector copy for back up protection (Used with File Recovery Tree, Boot and Partition Repair and Media Editor).
File Recovery Tree: Automatically rebuild the file system to recover files and folders to a reliable media.
Boot Partition Repair: Automatically rebuild the boot sectors and partition tables to recover files and folders to a reliable media.
Media Editor: Mount the file system: to rebuild it to recover files and folders to a reliable media; and/or to View, Look for, and Edit raw data, without knowing Hex, through custom-designed editing templates.
Secure Wipe: Bonus module! - for when you need to destroy data. Permanently delete data beyond the level the U.S. Department of Defense requirements.

    Reverse-Clone / Cycle-Clone
Reverse-Clone is the process of cloning from the end of your media to the beginning of it. When your media is severely failing mechanically, "Reverse-Cloning" is often your last chance to extract raw data from it, without having to take it into a clean room. This unique technology, coupled with Cycle-Clone and Cycle-Image, surpasses any cloning or imaging technology available.

Cycle-Clone - surpasses standard sector cloning and imaging methods by not only creating an exact sector back up copy of any media type to a like media; but, it also automatically cycles into Reverse-Clone when confronted with mechanical issues, such as read errors, to extract the most raw data possible.

Cycle-Image - creates an exact sector back up copy of any media type like Cycle-Clone, but the image is compressed (or uncompressed) into files. These files are either archived into "Split" files on a similar media, or "Spanned" onto removable media, such as a Zip.

For example, when writing to a media that is smaller than the Image file, the Image function automatically prompts you for additional media, breaking down the Image file into individual "Spanned" volumes. If you want to write to a Zip disk, simply change the default volume size (2GB or 2097MB) of the Image file to 100MB. At each 100MB interval, you are automatically prompted for additional media to store the Image files. In this case, you would continually swap Zip disks until the process is finished.

The main advantage of Imaging is to restore an exact physical sector copy of your original media, just in case the original or cloned media fails. Another advantage is that a portion of an Image file is easily restored, without having to wait for the entire Image to be restored. For example, if your attempt to edit the Boot Sector has dismal results, simply restore just the Boot Record to edit again.

    File Recovery Tree
File Recovery Tree gives you the power to:

    * Automatically recover any and all files and directories to another destination, including network drives (DOS/Windows 3.x/9.x/NT/2000/XP)
    * Recover data from hard drives (IDE, SCSI and SATA).
    * Recover data from removable media (Zip, Jaz, etc.).
    * Access any size hard drive.
    * Gain access to your hard drive when the BIOS does not recognize it.
    * Locate and View all File System Components:
    o Partition Tables
    o FATs (File Allocation Tables)
    o Root Directories
    o Sub Directories
    o NTFS File Records (MFT)
    * Create a detailed report of changes made by File Recovery Tree.
    * Authenticate the results with MD5 (Message Digest 5).
    * And much more
