The Structural Products development team is pleased to announce the availability of RAM Concept 2024 (24.00.01.028) is structural software for the design of post-tensioned and reinforced concrete floors including slabs, mats, and rafts.
RAM Concept 2024 (24.00.01.028) Release Notes - Release Date: December 2024
Installation Instructions
Installing this update will automatically uninstall RAM Concept 2024 (v24.00.00). However, this update can be installed concurrently with RAM Concept versions older than v24.00.00.
File Compatibility Warning
RAM Concept v24.00.01 can read all previous file formats, but it writes files in a format that cannot be read by RAM Concept versions older than v24.00.00.
Resolved Issues
RAM Concept v24.00.01 includes fixes for the issues discussed below.
No Shear or Moment Contour Results Plotted for Zero-Tension Combinations
No results were plotted on the default shear and moment contour plans (example: Max Mx Plan) created for load combinations defined with the Single Combo Type and Zero-Tension Analysis Type.
Active Design Rule Selection Changes
Changes to active design rule selections in Criteria > Design Rules were not recognized by the program.
Generated Mesh Out-of-Date Warning
When analyzing previously saved RAM Concept models, the generated mesh out-of-date warning below may have been issued in cases where the mesh was current with the structure definition.
Unknown Error During Punching Shear Design
In rare cases, the error below was produced when checking transverse spacing for SSR designs requirements at punching checks. This was a fatal error that prevented the calculations from completing.
Initial Stud Spacing Check for Ancon Shearfix SSR Systems
Program SSR designed using the Ancon Shearfix system may have been detailed with a design failure for the maximum first stud spacing check. In these cases, the program detailed first stud spacing was valid, but inadvertently led to a failure during the final check due to rounding.
Program Closes After Canceling File Close
The program session closed when attempting to close a file and then clicking Cancel in the Save File dialog.
Other Changes
RAM Concept v24.00.01 also includes the changes discussed below.
File Open Performance
Previously saved .cpt files open faster in this version. The improved performance is most noticeable for large files.
Deflection Checks for Load History Layers for PT Design Optimization Cloud Service
Deflection checks referencing load history deflection layers are no longer considered during optimizations.
Sign-in Requirements for PT Design Optimization Cloud Service
User sign-in is no longer required when opening the Optimization Manager and fewer sign-in prompts occur when running optimizations.
Python Scripting API
RAM Concept API version 24.00.01 can be installed and used with this version of RAM Concept. Refer to the API Documentation (Help > API Documentation) for installation instructions. RAM Concept API Version 24.00.01 does not include any changes from the previously released API Version.
Security Release Notes
Bentley is committed to continuously investigating and rectifying security vulnerabilities affecting its products and services. Regular checks and security fixes are a part of our releases to ensure better resilience to security vulnerabilities. This release of RAM Concept includes component upgrades and other changes to address potential security threats.
RAM Concept is an analysis and design program that uses the finite element method for elevated concrete floor systems, or mat foundations. The floors or mats can be post-tensioned concrete (PT), reinforced concrete (RC), or hybrid (a mixture of PT and RC). RAM Concept is extremely powerful and allows you to design an entire floor in one model, or design individual strips or beams.
In this RAM Concept training video, we introduce you to the new post-tension optimization workflow.
