The Structural Products development team is pleased to announce the availability of RAM Connection 2024 (24.00.04.05) is steel connection analysis and design software for virtually any connection type.

RAM Connection 2024 (24.00.04.05) - Release Date: January 2025

Resolved Issues:
AS4100 Column-Beam-Brace Eccentricity: Fixed incorrect eccentricity (taken as 0) for directly bolted I-shaped braces. Eccentricity now considers half the sum of the gusset and brace web thickness. The compression eccentricity for tab-gusset arrangements is also corrected for both I-shaped braces and angle shapes. (1564834)
AISC Single Plate for Beam Splice: Resolved an issue where the single plate was incorrectly designed for full axial load when a moment connection existed at the joint. The correct parameter is now used to exclude axial forces from web shear splice design when a moment connection is assigned. (1591121)
AISC Base Plate Anchor Design: Fixed incorrect bearing factor calculations for compression and tension cases. Limits and factor signs are now accurate per specifications, and eccentricity properly considers grouting thickness. (1588095)
AISC End Plate Column Splice: Resolved inconsistencies in drawings and calculations, where an “all around” weld was shown in DXF regardless of fit. Weld details are now accurate, and warnings are displayed if the plate does not fit the column. (1588747)
AISC Beam Splice Connection: Corrected tear-out check under axial load to account for double plates in web shear plate beam splice connectors. (1588888)
EN Flange Cover Plate for Beam Splices (Moments): Fixed an issue where only minimum design moments were considered. M33 and M22 demands are now included, and the design uses the maximum of the minimum design actions and demand. (1566710)
EN Flange Cover Plate for Beam Splices (Area): Fixed incorrect area calculations for inner plates. The area is now calculated properly for all splice configurations. (1592428)

RAM Connection is the ideal solution when structural engineers or designers need to check a specific connection, design a single connection for multiple joints, or optimize each connection in a structure. Analyze, design, and verify structural steel connections, all with comprehensive calculations, including seismic compliance. RAM Connection can check or design connections in seconds. Whether you design connections or need to check connections designed by the shop, RAM Connection is the software for you. In just one low-cost package, you get for steel frame connections the AISC ASD and LRFD, AS 4100-1998, BS5950-1, CSA S16-14, EN1993-EC3, GB50017 and IS800 connection design and optimization for shear and moment connections, braced frame connections, splices, and horizontal bracing connections. For truss connections you get the tubular connections design according to the AISC and the HSS Connection Design Manual. Through its seamless integration with the RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, and STAAD.Pro, RAM Connection raises the bar to a new level of productivity. All data regarding member sizes, joint geometry, and forces are transferred directly from either the RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, or STAAD.Pro to RAM Connection.
