    You use instant messengers to chat with your friends or colleagues. Did you know that your messages are sent in cleartext over the Internet, regardless of their destination?

    SimpPro secures popular instant messengers (MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, AIM, Jabber, Google Talk ) by encrypting text messages and file transfers. SimpPro is the commercial version of SimpLite, currently used by more than 50,000 security-aware IM users worldwide.

    Main SimpPro features:

    * Encrypts IM text messages before they leave your computer
    * Protects MSN Messenger and ICQ/AIM file transfers
    * Personal, small business and corporate use
    * Full compatibility with popular IM networks, clients and with SimpLite

    Key features:

    * Security for MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, ICQ, AIM, Jabber, Google Talk
    * Encrypt conversations for well-known IMs using state-of-the-art cryptography.
    * Easy installation and use
    * Minimal user interaction, completely transparent encryption.
    * Encrypted file transfers for MSN Messenger
    * MSN, ICQ and AIM file transfers are encrypted using Simp's strong cryptography.
    * Easy administration using GPO
    * Preconfigure and restrict Simp's control panel with GPO.
    * Full compatibility with Simp Lite
    * Benefit from Simp Pro features even if your contacts are only using Simp Lite.

    Hardware and operating system requirements:
    SimpPro requires a PC-compatible computer equipped with a Microsoft Windows 98 or higher operating system and at least the following hardware specifications: Pentium-class CPU (300 MHz), 64 Mb of RAM and 10 Mb of hard disk space.

    Instant Messaging networks and clients:
    SimpPro has been designed for the popular instant messaging networks and their official clients: MSN Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, Jabber, Google Talk. However, any client supporting SOCKS4 proxying or server specification should be compatible with SimpPro. We have successfully tested SimpPro with the following clients: Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger 6.x, 7.x, ICQ 2005, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger 5.6.x, 6.x, 7.x, GAIM, aMSN, Trillian, Google Talk, Exodus, Pandion.

    Internet connection:
    SimpPro requires either a direct connection to the Internet (possibly through a home cable/dsl router), or through an HTTP or SOCKS 4/5 proxy. For Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, AIM, Jabber, only CONNECT-capable HTTP proxies are supported. HTTP proxies that do not support or forbid CONNECT connections will not work with Simp. To determine the type of proxy in use on your corporate network, please consult your network administrator.
    If you use a personal firewall, you may have to explicitely give SimpPro full access to the Internet.

    If you use an IP filter, you may have to allow outgoing connections to the IM ports of the IM networks you plan to use. Please visit your IM vendor websites for information about opening IM ports through your firewall.
