Not all functionality in Testlab is supported in the 64-bit versionof Testlab (see further). For this reason, we recommend using the 32-bit version of Testlab in combination with a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office.

A 64-bit version of Simcenter Testlab is available but only on request, so that an evaluation can be done on the desired functionality compared to the limitations. The functionality that is supported in the 64-bit version of Simcenter Testlab differs from release to release. This document describes frequently asked questions on the following topics:
- When is a 64-bit Simcenter Testlab version necessary
- Collaboration Simcenter Testlab and MS Office
- Side-by-side support of 32 and 64-bit version of Simcenter Testlab
- Consequences of using a 64-bit Simcenter Testlab version
- Compatibility of 32 and 64-bit Simcenter Testlab data
- Limitations on functionality from Simcenter Testlab revision 2019.1.2
A big change in comparison with the previous releases is that Testlab, from 2019.1.2 on, is only supported on 64-bit Windows Operating Systems. All 32-bit Windows Operating Systems are no longer supported. Furthermore, only the Windows 10 64-bit versions are supported. For Testlab itself nothing changed concerning the available versions and recommendations. A32-bit version of Simcenter Testlab runs perfectly on Windows 10 64-bit operating systems., on whichit isextensively tested. One of the main potential benefits of using the 64-bit version of a program is to extend its memory space far beyond the 4 GByte of a 32-bit version, provided of course that the memory is physically available on the PC
Conclusions
Not all functionality in Testlab is supported in the 64-bit version of Testlab. For this reason, by default, we recommend using the 32-bit version of Testlab in combination with a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office.A 64-bit version of Simcenter Testlab is available but only on request and might be useful typically to handle large databases or models. This note also documents which functionality of Simcenter Testlab is supported in the 64-bit version and which not. This differs from release to release
The Simcenter Testlab allows engineers to asses and use test-based data throughout the entire product development phases, including design, engineering, validation and certification.
The Simcenter Testlab 2019.1 release introduces new technologies and a series of functional enhancements, adding a dimension to the digitalization trend and effectively implementing the new role of physical testing.
The highlights of this release are: model-based system testing, component-based transfer path analysis, active sound design, solutions for AVAS, sound quality engineering, and pass-by noise engineering updates, as well as enhancements in Simcenter Testlab Neo.

Windows Operating System
Simcenter Testlab 2019.1.2 is supported on the following Windows 10 (Enterprise 64bit) versions:
- Window 10, version 1809
- Window 10, version 1803
- Window 10, version 1709
- Window 10, version 1703
Note: Software testing has been done on versions 1709, 1803 and 1809
Simcenter Testlab 2019.1.2 is also supported on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016 for the analysis applications. When starting the Simcenter Testlab installation program on Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2016, the product selection tree will contain only the analysis applications. Doing measurements with a frontend is not supported. Note that the installation on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016 required different prerequisites. To install those, several reboots might be needed. Siemens PLM Software has developed a genuine 64-bit version for most of the Simcenter Testlab applications, which is available on request. The 32-bit version being the advised one, the 64-bit version brings improvement in those cases of very high memory demands.
Interoperability with Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint)
Testlab supports interoperability with Microsoft Office 2010, Office 2013, Office 2016, Office 2019 and Office 365 Pro Plus. Office Online, the web-based variant of Officeis not supported.
