VectorWorks Design Suite 2025 Update 6

Vectorworks, Inc. has released its sixth update for the Vectorworks 2025 product line. This update includes the following quality improvements that enhance your everyday experience with Vectorworks 2025.

Vectorworks 2025 elevates the design software experience and allows designers to bring their best ideas to life without sacrificing quality or efficiency. Key enhancements focusing on intuitive visualization and interactivity include Onscreen View Control for quick model navigation, Two-Point Perspective for easily creating architectural and photography perspectives, and Object Level Visibility for easily managing individual objects' visibility. Plus, the Vectorworks Cloud Document Reviewer streamlines the document review process for anyone from anywhere. Vectorworks 2025 also offers flexible room finish management and automated BIM data assignment for architects and interior designers, while landscape architects and designers benefit from precise 3D tools for curbs, edging, and borders, and enhanced sustainability documentation. The new version also highlights a more significant investment in entertainment products like Spotlight, Braceworks, and ConnectCAD to enhance workflow efficiency while maintaining quality, aiming to meet the specific needs of entertainment industry professionals. With updates designed directly from customer feedback, lighting, scenic, rigging, and event professionals will find features and improvements implemented specifically to address their most-used entertainment industry tools. Additionally, the latest version includes new developments such as Showcase previz mode, available directly within Vectorworks, and automatic GDTF fixture mapping, further ensuring streamlined workflows and enhanced documentation quality.


- Resolves an issue adjusting story values.
- Fixes an issue when files created with an earlier version of Vectorworks are opened in a later version of Vectorworks.
- Restores the trim height of truss objects when the user origin changes.
- Fixes the functionality of the Distributor and Schematic Distributor modes of the Cable tool when connecting cables to hoists.
- Resolves a project sharing issue when saving and committing changes.
- Fixes an issue with using the Attributes palette for hardscape joint pattern overlays.
- Fixes an issue when using the Flyover tool before the Onscreen View Control.
- Resolves an issue when exporting files containing slab objects to Revit.
- Restores the characters displayed in the 2D views list in the RVT/RFA Import Options dialog box.


General
- Improves general stability by resolving multiple issues that caused crashes, including minimized floating view panes, texture application to walls without components, and file conversion/backward translation.
- Improves stability when opening and converting files from previous versions.
- Improves performance and navigation with files that contain large numbers of viewports.
- Restores pushing worksheet data to Excel.
- In data tags, the worksheet Round function works with mathematical operations.
- Enhances the reliability of operations that transfer data between Vectorworks documents, including project sharing (committing and refreshing), copying and pasting, referencing, and importing.
Interoperability
- Revit export and import improvements:
- Improves stability when exporting Revit files.
- Walls export correctly to Revit 2022 format.
- Objects are positioned correctly when exported to Revit family object positions preserved in RFA exports.
- Textures with special characters display correctly.
- Exporting Vectorworks files to DXF/DWG on a Mac uses consistent CRLF line breaks to prevent import errors in other CAD tools.
- Fixes double-byte characters when importing DXF/DWG files on a Mac.
- Importing 3DS files correctly imports textures.
Architect and Landmark
- Hardscape and landscape area attributes properly take on class assignments from the Object Info palette.
- Enhances attribute management for synchronizing object parts and default attributes in hardscape and landscape areas, enabling assignment of distinct classes to individual components.
- Restores hardscape 2D base fill opacity.
- Fence infill texture mapping conforms to Rotation and Follow longest edge settings.
Architect, Landmark, and Spotlight
- Exporting a Vectorworks file to a PDF or an image from Top/Plan view displays in the correct view.
- Data visualizations hide geometry as expected in section viewports.
- Fixes viewport styles to correctly save white color temperature settings for lighting emitters.
Spotlight
- Fixes Spotlight crashes and geometry corruption when using Prolyte H30D-100, X30D-100, and H30V-200 truss symbols in 3D views.
- Fixes a crash when the Spotlight/Vision plugin is missing and the Lighting Device dialog box is opened.
- Improves cable tools’ reporting to prevent duplicate dimmer numbers when cables are correctly connected.
