Cygne I (1976) is an 11-minute short film directed by Absis and featuring a voice-over by Marguerite Duras. The film, along with Cygne II, was inspired by Duras' work and made in collaboration with her and actor Michael Lonsdale, with cinematography by Bruno Nuytten. It depicts a double persona, one naked on a couch and the other in a concert dress at a piano, singing with music from "Ariadne's Lamento" by Monteverdi. After its initial screening in 1976, the film fell into obscurity until its rediscovery in 2021.
