In the 1940s, Soviet scientists were tasked to create an atom bomb and avert a possible nuclear war. ‘It was a matter of life and death for our country to create a nuclear weapon’. Their lives were top secret, but we can finally hear from scientists and intelligence agents who worked on the bomb in declassified interviews.
