The film "Uncle Maoshan" is set in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican era. The story unfolds in Renjia Town, Hong Kong, where the corpse of a wealthy merchant mysteriously disappears after his death. At the same time, a terrifying “blood demon” begins wreaking havoc in the town.

Uncle Maoshan, a Taoist priest skilled in exorcism and spiritual arts — teams up with his two disciples and the eccentric Captain Cao Crooked Mouth to investigate the strange events. Together, they uncover dark secrets and confront supernatural forces in their quest to reveal the truth behind the blood demon and the missing corpse.
