Carrier has released HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) 6.2 is remained one of the most popular, user-friendly building load calculation and energy modeling programs in the HVAC industry.

What's new in HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) 6.0
This video describes the key new features in HAP v6.0. These features include enhanced weather data, the new building modeling workflow, streamlined input of space data and heat balance load calculations.

What's new in HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) 6.2
HAP v6.2 contains the following changes:

    1. Building Modeling: Added an “Import gbXML” option to facilitate integration between HAP and CAD or BIM tools.
    2. LEED v4: Added features for conducting a Standard 90.1 Appendix G performance rating analysis and then generating a LEED v4 Summary report.
    3. Calculation Engine: Updated the calculation engine to EnergyPlus version 23.2 which resolves certain problems, updates calculations, and in some cases delivers a calculation speed increase.
    4. Energy Prices: Implemented the most recent US state average electricity and natural gas prices published by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA)
    5. Other Enhancements: Made other enhancements involving project data management, building modelling, space models, air systems, plants, and documentation.
    6. Problem Fixes: Corrected problems in HAP v6.1

Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) 6.2

HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) is designed for consulting engineers, design/build contractors, HVAC contractors, facility engineers and other professionals involved in the design and analysis of commercial building HVAC systems. The program is a powerful tool for designing systems and sizing system components as well as modeling annual energy performance and energy costs. HAP is a dual function program - full-featured load calculation and system sizing for commercial buildings plus versatile hour-by-hour energy modeling. It offers graphical input features for rapidly assembling a 3D building model. Thermal loads are calculated using the ASHRAE Heat Balance load method. System components are sized using System-Based Design, which tailors sizing procedures to the specific system type. Energy modeling uses full 8760 hours-per-year analysis to evaluate the operation of a wide variety of HVAC system types. Energy costs are computed based on energy use, demand profiles, and utility rate structures. A wide range of tabular and graphical outputs is available.
