Next generation CFD tool that uses unstructured mesh to accurately represent complicated geometry. With Preprocessor that helps any level users generate high quality polyhedral mesh elements and construct complicated models, and Solver that ensures more stability and speed, scFLOW is capable of solving aerospace and automotive aerodynamics, performance of fans, pumps and other rotating equipment, design problems of electronic devices, multiphase phenomena, marine propeller cavitation, and varied problems. Through co-simulation and chained simulations coupled with MSC Software Marc, Nastran, Adams and Actran, more realistic coupling and multidisciplinary analyses with fluid, structure, acoustics, and multibody dynamics can be achieved.

scSTREAM & Heat Designer
scSTREAM is a general-purpose CFD tool that uses Cartesian or cylindrical structured mesh to enable easy mesh generation and high-speed simulations to be performed in a fraction of the time. Due to the meshing nature and analysis system that enables large-scale calculation, scSTREAM works best at processing extensive simulations, where users are required to solve thermal problems of electronic devices and indoor environment, wind flow, and heat island phenomena. scSTREAM thermo-fluid software has serviced the electronics and architectural industries for thirty years. The ever-evolving software is characterized by its overwhelmingly user-friendly interfaces and high speed processing.

HeatDesigner is a structured (Cartesian) mesh thermal fluid analysis software specially designed for electronics cooling thermal analysis. It uses core technology from Software Cradle's scSTREAM general purpose structured mesh thermal-fluid software product. HeatDesigner's performance is optimized for applications that do not require precise reproduction of fine geometrical curvature to predict an accurate flow field. However, HeatDesigner is capable of accommodating meshes with over a hundred million elements enabling it to capture fine geometrical details. Like scSTREAM, the major advantages of HeatDesigner are fast calculations times and low memory consumption.

The SC/Tetra package is unique in that it contains a combined mesher and solver. It also defaults to using all tetrahedral elements, except where defined around certain bodies or along boundaries. This makes building a model very straightforward. When attempting to recreate the model of the wave tank, the software allows for the assembly of components from individual meshes. So building the wave tank was as simple as creating a meshed tank, a meshed Wave Generator and a meshed Wing and then overlay them appropriately and defining their motion. This works quite well, however when modeling 2D motion this can prove problematic. When generating 2D models a symmetry boundary is used, and should work with moving objects. However what can occur is one of the nodes on the moving objects can move outside the boundaries of the surrounding mesh. This causes the model to fail. The solution is to make the model a 3D model, but this requires significantly more computational power. If the computing resources had been available however, this program would have proven very useful.

In Postprocessor, you can visualize the simulation results calculated in Solver. It is effective for product design reviews because in Postprocessor, you can check, for example, temperature distribution at the places that cannot be measured or observed in the actual products. You can output not only still images but also animations, as well as output files for CradleViewer.

CADthru is a data translation tool used to prepare CAD data for CFD analysis purposes. CADthru's robust functions enable fast and automatic repair of geometric and topological data defects in the original CAD data. CADthru helps reduce cumbersome re-editing processes that show up when the CFD mesh is being generated and prevent creation of a high quality mesh. The CAD defects come from artifacts from the original CAD system and the processes used to create the CAD data. Using CADthru, and enables seamless translation from CAD data to CFD data.
