The Optenni product team is pleased to announce the availability of Optenni Lab 4.3 SP5 is a software tool for synthesis and optimization of matching circuits for multiband, broadband, multi-antenna, tunable antenna systems, and high frequency electronics applications.

Optenni Lab 4.3 released

This release has several important new features. By incorporating the per-port radiation pattern data as well as the full S-parameter matrix of the array, Optenni Lab is now able to accurately and efficiently evaluate active reflection coefficients, system efficiencies and beam properties of the array without the need for analytical approximations. The analysis can also include matching circuits composed of discrete inductors and capacitors or transmission lines. With the help of Optenni Lab, the designer can easily verify the performance of full array in different feeding configurations.

Here are just some highlights of the new release:

- Simultaneous port excitations (amplitude, phase) can be specified for multiantenna systems. Total radiation pattern, total system efficiency, active reflection coefficients and currents/voltages/component losses are calculated for the given excitation.
- New power balance visualization diagram
- User-controlled plot tick marks and minor grid lines
- Monitoring of the progress of optimization
- Highlighting multiple curves for all plot types

Optenni Lab allows synthesis using an arbitrary number of discrete or distributed components. Optenni Lab has easy-to-use antenna diagnostic tools to pre-select most promising prototype candidates for the desired bandwidth and isolation targets. Optenni Lab takes properly into account mutual coupling of antennas in close proximity and finds the matching circuits that provide the best total efficiency. The very challenging design problem of frequency tuning using variable capacitors or switches is supported.

In designing matching circuits for low-noise amplifiers and power amplifiers, users can specify the optimal target impedances for best noise, power, or efficiency performance – including the impedances at harmonic frequencies. Together with a dedicated circuit simulator or measurement setup, Optenni Lab provides a quick solution to the otherwise time-consuming design phase.
