The software developer Plexim is pleased to announce the availability of PLECS Standalone 4.9.2 is an autonomous software package for time-domain simulation of power electronic systems.

Version 4.9 – December 16, 2024

- The PLECS Coder supports code generation for the Nanostep solvers on PLECS RT Boxes with firmware version 3.1 or newer. The component library contains a new set of blocks that make use of the Nanostep technology for popular topologies such as LLC, DAB and PSFB.
- PLECS can detect and fix problems in the parameterization of thermal impedances in semiconductor XML datasheets that can lead to wrong transient behavior.
- The new PLECS WBS Designer greatly simplifies the task of setting up a web-based simulation application from a PLECS simulation model.
- The schematic editor has been enhanced with a smart snapping feature that simplifies the creation of clean schematics with nicely aligned blocks.
- PLECS Standalone can be configured as an external diff viewer in version control systems such as Git.
- The CodeGen simulation mode can be applied to code generation subsystems that are configured for any target rather than only the Generic target. Scope and Display blocks inside a code generation subsystem are updated during CodeGen simulations.
- The Scope Data Window has a new analysis type Slope to quickly estimate the slope or the frequency of scope signals.
- The schematic editor provides new context menu actions to quickly create counterparts or change tag names of Signal From, Signal Goto and Electrical Label blocks.
- The State Space block can perform vectorization for single-input state-space systems.
- The Gain block has a new parameter Gain data type that gives you fine grained control over the computations done when using fixed-point data types.

Plexim Plecs 4.9.2

PLECS Standalone is an autonomous software package for time-domain simulation of power electronic systems. If independence from other simulation platforms is important, PLECS Standalone provides the all-in-one solution for modeling complex electrical circuits and sophisticated controls in a single environment. Due to its optimized engine, PLECS Standalone runs much faster than PLECS Blockset. With the comprehensive block library, PLECS Standalone offers a cost-effective yet powerful solution for dynamic system simulation in general.

Introduction to PLECS Standalone

This tutorial video provides an introduction to PLECS Standalone. The highlights of the video are using the schematic editor and component library, and modeling a simple DC/DC converter, first with an open-loop controller, and then close the loop with a hysteresis type controller. The resulting waveforms are then viewed in the PLECS Scope.
Plexim, with locations in Zurich and Boston, is an innovative software company active in the field of technical simulation. For 20 years we have successfully developed and marketed PLECS – the leading simulation software for power electronic systems and electrical drives. In addition, we offer automatic code generation and real-time systems as pioneering technologies for the development and test of controls.
