Advanced SmartCheck is a unique software program that is designed to provide detailed and comprehensive information about the hard drive health on all your network computers and help prevent hard drive failure and loss of important and valuable data.Advanced SmartCheck can monitor hard drives health of a lot of computers and display all statistics at a single workplace, higliting the most dangerous changes in a drives health and displaying it to the Network Administrator or sending report by E-mail.
The main advantage of the Advanced SmartCheck is a single Administrator's workplace where all the data is collected. So, the person, responsible for the hardware, will see the health of the all hard drives and can make a decision if it is necessary to replace any drive BEFORE it fails and the data loss will happen.
The Advanced SmartCheck can also show the overheated hard drives, so the technical stuff can make a decision of purchasing additional cooling fans for these hard drives, because the hard drive life becomes twice less if it is working at 100 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Centigrades) in comparison with the same drive, working at 70 degrees (25 Centigrades).
The other S.M.A.R.T. monitoring tools (including our Personal SmartCheck) does not provides any information to the system administrator and could be closed by the user because the constant alerts from the S.M.A.R.T. monitoring tool disturbs him.
S.M.A.R.T. stands for Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology. It was developed by a number of major Hard Disk Drive Manufacturers in a concerted effort to increase the reliability of drives. It is a technology that enables the PC to predict the future failure of hard disk drives. S.M.A.R.T. technology has become an industry standard for hard drive manufacturers.
The S.M.A.R.T. system does just what its name implies it does. It monitors the drive for anything that might seem out of the ordinary, documents it, and analyzes the data. If it sees something that indicates a problem, it is capable of notifying the user (or, if applicable, the system administrator). S.M.A.R.T. monitors the disks performance, bad sectors, calibration, CRC errors, disk spin up time, distance between the head and the disk, temperature, features of medium, heads, motor or servo-mechanism. In all, over 35 attributes are covered by S.M.A.R.T. The errors that the system can detect can be predicted by a number of methods. Currently the SMART system can detect around 70% of all hard drive errors.
