On August 14th, Cancer release the second full-length album, the follow up to 2018’s ‘Into the Heartless Silence’ and 2016’s ‘Terminal’. The album follows the story of Thomas De Quincey, a 19th Century English essayist considered a pioneer of addiction literature. The album captures his life in Victorian-era England, his descent into the struggles of addiction and the dreams that plagued him until his death. The music takes influence from bands such as Silencer, Dissection, At the Gates and Emperor, providing a bleak atmospheric soundscape to complement the sinister undertone of the story.
