This two-fer from the Australian Raven label is a part of a series of Delbert McClinton reissues. All of them come with new liner notes, session photos, and bonus tracks. These two albums, from 1980 and 1981, respectively, represent a renaissance for McClinton of sorts. While he never had a fallow period creatively, The Jealous Kind allowed him a renewed commercial viability even if it was short-lived. Both records were issued by the Muscle Shoals Sound imprint of Capitol Records and were produced by Barry Beckett with the Muscle Shoals rhythm section and horns. While the first disc is centered around diversity in its song choices – by everyone from Larry Henley to Bobby Charles to Van Morrison to Al Green to Jerry Williams – and took radical approaches to reinterpreting the material through soul, blues, funk, rock, and country, the latter chose hard-driving Southern-fried funk and R&B and a relatively close-to-the-vest approach in terms of material – most notably covers of "In the Midnight Hour" and Naomi Neville's "Lipstick Traces (On a Cigarette)".

Reissue of this 2004 release from the American singer-songwriter. The album was originally recorded in 1989 but remained unreleased for 15 years. Delaney Bramlett is probably best known for his partnership with his former wife Bonnie. Eric Clapton was so enamored of the duo that he subsequently left Blind Faith and toured with Delaney and Bonnie and recorded a live album with them in Europe in 1970 following which Eric recorded his first solo album with much input from Delaney. Other high profile musicians attracted to the Bramletts were Dave Mason, George Harrison and John Lennon.

This 42-minute, eight-song live album, cut at Croydon late in 1969, is not only the peak of Delaney & Bonnie's output, but also the nexus in the recording and performing careers of Eric Clapton and George Harrison. On Tour features Clapton performing the same blend of country, blues, and gospel that would characterize his own early solo ventures in 1970. He rises to the occasion with dazzling displays of virtuosity throughout, highlighted by a dizzying solo on "I Don't Want to Discuss," a long, languid part on "Only You Know and I Know," and searing, soulful lead on the beautifully harmonized "Coming Home." Vocally, Delaney & Bonnie were never better than they come off on this live set, and the 11-piece band sounds tighter musically than a lot of quartets that were working at the time, whether they're playing extended blues or ripping through a medley of Little Richard songs.

Eric Clapton s 25th Anniversary Tour, featuring Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler among band members, was arranged to celebrate what was, in the late-1980s, Clapton s quarter century in the music business. Beginning on January 22, 1988 in Birmingham and ending on November 5 the same year in Osaka, the tour led through Asia, Europe and North America. Announced in December 1987 the tour quickly sold out and during 42 concerts, including four in Japan, 12 in the United Kingdom and 26 in the United States and Canada, Eric and band performed in front of more than 500,000 concertgoers, taking around 14 million US dollars in revenue. On November 2nd, the entourage performed at Japan s Tokyo Dome, for a show which was recorded for live broadcast on TV and FM radio, both in Japan and across the US. Elton John performed both solo on a couple of numbers during the concert, and alongside Clapton and band for several more songs. This entire gig is now presented on this 2CD Set in perfect quality for the first time.

Zucchero Adelmo Fornaciari is the real name of the talented Italian musician more commonly known to the world by his nickname Zucchero ("Sugar"), given to him by an elementary school teacher. He began playing the guitar in his home province of Reggio Emilia, focusing on music in the blues/R&B mold. As a teenager in the early '70s, he founded a local band called Le Nuove Luci. He formed another group, Sugar and Candies, in 1978, and began writing as well – Italian pop songs for other artists, and more blues-oriented material for himself. Zucchero garnered a great deal of success in 1981 when he won the Castrocaro Festival, which led to performances at the 1982 and 1983 Sanremo Festivals.

Home is the second studio album by the Irish rock band Hothouse Flowers, released in 1990. It reached number 5 on the UK Albums Chart and 1 on the Australian charts. The Los Angeles Times wrote that "the gospel-influenced rave-ups that punctuate the band's second album call into question how much soul it can squeeze from the boogie". The Windsor Star determined that the band "is best when it rams straight ahead on full-blown horn tunes, like 'Hardstone City' and 'Giving It All Away'". Jonathan Lewis of AllMusic deemed Home an "underrated gem".

Singer and guitarist Alan Arena brings a deep set of blues rockers together on this latest release. The team of Paul Nelson/g, Brad Hallen/b, Marty Richards/dr, Brooks Milgate/p-org and Stephens Clements/perc bring in some cameo guests for some clever originals. Arena comes off as a storyteller here, spinning yards as the fun “Big Black Cat”, the autobiographic “Raised On Radio” and the Memphis swamp of “Devil In The Bottle”, all backed by some hip riffs. He glides over a Latin pulse on “Deceived” and wails along Jerry Portnoy’s heavy harp on Memphis Slim’s “Mother Earth”, while searing over Richards’ snappy sticks on “Hypnotized”.

Leaning further into a raw, gritty direction that showcases his unique ability to weave between rock, blues, Americana, and soul. Produced by Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker), the album was recorded between Sunset Sound Studios in LA and Zac Brown's Southern Ground Studios in Nashville. Robert Randolph is a pedal steel guitarist, singer, and songwriter hailing from Irvington, New Jersey. Since 2001, he has led famed American gospel group The Family Band, which NPR has described as one with an "irresistible rock 'n' roll swagger". Rolling Stone included Randolph upon their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
