Matt Monro (December 1, 1930 (or 1932, say some sources) - February 7, 1985) was a ballad singer of the 1960s and one of great international postwar entertainers. Throughout his 30-year career he filled cabarets, nightclubs, music halls and stadiums across the globe, from Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and Hong Kong to Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. He sold more than 25 million records during his lifetime, imbuing each one with his elegant blend of majesty, sincerity, and superior technique.

John Royce “Johnny” Mathis (born September 30, 1935 in Gilmer, Texas) is an American popular singer of African-American and Caucasian ancestry, and one of the few living male vocalists associated with Traditional Pop music. Johnny Mathis has the distinction of being the very first recording artist to have a “greatest hits” album released, that being “Johnny's Greatest Hits” in 1958. Of all the Andy Williams Christmas albums available, Christmas Present is by far his most religious collection. The release consists of thirteen tracks and all of them, with the possible exception of the title track, could be considered hymns. Like other male crooners from the 1960s, Williams was portrayed as a bit of a swinger, but here when he sings the “Ave Maria” he sounds as pious and pure as an altar boy. In fact, the sensitive take is one of his best – if the “Ave Maria” isn't proof enough, give “What Child Is This” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem” a spin. Williams picks up the tempo a little bit with “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Joy to the World”.

With the Choirs of the Benedictine Abbey of Montserrat, the Dominican Schola of France, the Royal Benedictine Abbey of Hautecombe, the Paris Gregorian Choir, the Nuns of the Benedictine Abbey of Maumont, the Monks of the Abbey of Einsiedeln and the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Wandrille.

This collection of standards and original works is a must for any family at the holiday season. The Muppets are entertaining in any case, and Jim Henson's spin on classic songs like “The Twelve Days of Christmas” and "Christmas is Coming" will keep you smiling. Even if you don't have children, it is a welcome change from many “standard” Christmas albums that are often overplayed at this time of year.

The Chipmunks Greatest Christmas Hits delivers everything the title promises, including high-pitched, festive versions of “Here Comes Santa Claus”, “Silver Bells”, “Over the River Through the Woods”, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, and “Deck the Halls”. The album also includes a bonus track of The Chipmunks performing “The Chipmunk Christmas Song” with Canned Heat.

Sorry but I couldn't get anything about the CD... Anybody who enjoys good music should be able to appreciate the music...
