Adoption and Impact of OER in the Global South

Cheryl Hodgkinson-williams, "Adoption and Impact of OER in the Global South"
English | ISBN: 1928331483 | 2017 | 592 pages | EPUB | 8 MB

This volume brings together 16 chapters on the adoption and impact of open educational resources (OER) in the Global South, based on research done for the Research for Open Educational Resources for Development (ROER4D) project. They aim to identify key educational challenges in specific contexts to which open educational resources and open educational practices may be used as a response, such as supporting teachers in war-torn countries or post-war areas, for equity of student access, and enhancing the quality of educational materials for basic education. After description of the project, chapters detail factors influencing open educational practices and open educational resources in the Global South, open educational resource use by higher education instructors, and sub-projects in secondary and tertiary education and teacher professional development in Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, South Africa, Mauritius, Uganda, Tanzania, Mongolia, India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.
