This is NOT a DevOps book; it is a book that explores services provided by AWS to help support DevOps. I realized when I first started using AWS that there was a lot to learn. To begin, I simply replicated our environment as EC2 containers in the AWS cloud, but we were then told that there were other tools out there. So, I did an exploration of the tools, and as I did so, it was a rocky path. I decided to publish the road that I went through, so that you don't have to get all the bumps and bruises that I did. There are some failures in here, but it comes with valuable information. I don't propose that you'll find the key to happiness in the AWS cloud in this book, but I do think it will give you some valuable insight into how AWS works for DevOps.

This book includes a brief overview of IAM, a detailed exploration of Elastic Beanstalk (and reasons why I shouldn't use it), and a detailed exploration of AWS OpsWorks. There is a lot of command-line interface, so it's easy to copy and paste, while also providing the Web interface routes.
