This is a memoir of war time Germany. The story of a grocery store, the family that owned it and the variety of customers that depended on it. The struggle to provide inventory during and after the war, as most items were sent to the Front for the soldiers.
When Quonset huts were erected for the homeless in this small community, it became a struggle of survival and ingenuity not only for the community but for the merchants. This is a story of survival, of hardship but most of all hope and inner strength.
