DJ Qbert developed the art of using the turntable as a musical instrument by inventing styles and creating unique scratching techniques.

No other DJ has championed this art like DJ Qbert. He is one of only two DJs "Knighted" by the Grandmasters of the Hip-Hop culture. In this futuristic day and age we live in, DJs from all over the globe have the chance to train with the best of all time, in the total comfort of your own studio at home whenever you wish.

Living in San Francisco, this Filipino-American started playing with records at the age of 15, and was mainly influenced by the street performers of San Francisco's hip-hop community in the mid 80s.

His first turntable band was FM20 with Mix Master Mike and DJ Apollo in 1990. They were playing a show in NY when Crazy Legs saw them and invited them to join the Rock Steady Crew. With the rock Steady DJ's, they took the 1992 DMC World Title. DJ Qbert took 2 others DMC World Titles under the "Dream Team" name (Qbert and Mix Master Mike) in 1993 and 1994. In June 1998, Qbert, along with Mix Master Mike, received the DMC DJ Hall of Fame award for outstanding contributions to the competition and, more importantly, the industry. DJ Qbert is one of the founding members of the legendary turntable band "Invisibl' Skratch Piklz.” In November 1998, he released his solo debut album completely made from scratches, "Wave Twisters.” This concept album presented a story about an entire civilization residing in inner-space, and the only form of communication is through the sounds of skratching. This album delivered Qbert's solo improvisations, along with songs created through breaking all types of instruments into intricate symbols. It was later turned into an animated feature of the same title, "Wave Twisters", in 2001. 2004 brought the continuation of his World Tour and the release of his latest design for Vestax, a hybrid turntable/mixer called the Q.F.O. In 2009 DJ Qbert launched the Qbert Skratch University cementing his legacy as the leader in DJ education. DJ Qbert continues to play throughout the world and was recently included as a major character in Activision’s DJ Hero 2.
