Description

CELTA Ready is a comprehensive introduction to the Cambridge CELTA teacher training course. My name is Chris Jones, and I've trained over 1000 candidates on CELTA courses, so I know what you need to succeed. This course will introduce you to the structure and content of CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), with modules covering the timetable, managing your time, assessment, criteria, teaching practice, language analysis, written assignments and the concepts you'll learn about in input sessions. The course is delivered in video format, with a number of downloadable pdfs that you can use to help you when the CELTA itself is underway. Quizzes at the end of each module check your learning so far, and will allow you to pinpoint areas to study further. The course is designed to be taken in order, but it's also something you may wish to dip into in the order of your choosing, and you'll find it useful to return to during CELTA, too.A little about why I created this course. I took my CELTA 20 years ago, with zero teaching experience, and very little knowledge of how language teaching worked (especially when teaching learners of English *in* English!). After having cut my teeth teaching in the UK and Central Europe, I trained as a CELTA trainer, and have since trained in excess of 1000 candidates. It's become clear to me that most candidates start CELTA with little knowledge of how the course works and what's involved, and that's why I've created this course. Drawing on my experience of face-to-face and online CELTA to candidates from all over the world, CELTA Ready is the ideal way to prepare for this challenging but deeply rewarding qualification, and I can't wait to guide you through it!That's enough from me - let's get CELTA Ready!
