During the 1920s, he lived for a time in Argentina, where he also taught karate. After returning to Okinawa, he continued his life’s work as a teacher. Hohan Soken was known for his deep knowledge of kata and his strong emphasis on bunkai, the practical application of techniques. He died in 1982, but his influence on traditional karate remains strong today. The footage was compiled from old historical 8mm film reels and re-edited with new audio.
