Smart Home technology started for more than a decade to introduce the concept of networking devices and equipment in the house. According to the Smart Homes Association the best definition of smart home technology is: the integration of technology and services through home networking for a better quality of living. Many tools that are used in computer systems can also be integrated in Smart Home Systems.
In this project, smart home is implemented using two different types of microcontrollers which are Arduino and Raspberry pi. They are connected to each other in order to distribute control system for smart home applications.
Monitoring, security, light control and remote control home automation are controlled using both microcontrollers. All these systems are power supplied by a UPS system that takes two supplies, one from the mains electricity and the other from a solar system.
