The first poetry anthology in English by an Italian author and live performer, Giovanni Bollini, whose first book Ritornàti al magma came out and won a literary prize (Dialogo) in 1997. After his poems were published in the South African magazine Botsotso and a new prize (G.Gherardi) for a theatre play, Apotropaica, in 2004, two more poetry volumes were issued, Diversi tempi in 2004 and Amor panico in 2009. A new collection in Italian, Quella sola volta del cielo, will be out in 2017.
A stunning, visionary, anything but surprising work, as Bollini graduated in English and American Literature with a dissertation on P.K.Dick, the dystopian science-fiction novelist who foreshadowed virtual reality.
