Haupt, Werner: "Die Deutsche Schutztruppe 1889-1918"
    Dorfler | German | Year: 2001 | ISBN: 3895550329 | Pages: 163 | PDF | 58,3 MB

The book by Werner Haupt portrays very comprehensive and competent the history of the German colonial protection force from 1884 to 1918.

Numerous photographs, sketches and documents complement this excellent book that can probably be described as the standard work on this subject.

Particularly the acquisition of colonies and their military security, in the Herero and Hottentottenaufstand 1904-1908 in German South-West Africa, the Maji Maji rebellion in East Africa in 1905 and the operations of the German protection troops in the first World War are focal points of this excellent documentation.
